What Does the Audiobook Percentage Calculator Do?
This calculator shows you exactly how much of your audiobook you've completed. Simply enter the total duration and how much you've listened, and you'll get your completion percentage, time remaining, and personalized finish date based on your daily listening habits.
How to Use This Audiobook Calculator
- Total audiobook duration: Enter hours, minutes, and seconds from your audiobook player (Audible, Spotify, Apple Books, etc.)
- Time listened: Enter how much you've already listened to
- Playback speed: Select your listening speed — the calculator adjusts remaining time accordingly
- Daily goal (optional): Set how many minutes you listen per day to see when you'll finish
Formula Used
Percentage Completed (%) = (Time Listened ÷ Total Duration) × 100
Time Remaining = Total Duration - Time Listened
Adjusted Time at Speed = Time Remaining ÷ Playback Speed
Days to Finish = (Adjusted Time Remaining in minutes) ÷ Daily Minutes
Does This Work With Audible and Spotify?
Yes. The calculator works with any audiobook platform that shows total duration and listened time. For Audible, go to Player Settings and select "Time Listened/Total Time" display. For Spotify audiobooks, the time is shown directly on the player screen.
How Playback Speed Affects Completion
Your listening speed doesn't change the percentage completed — that's based on actual time listened. However, it does affect how much real-world time remains. At 1.5x speed, you'll finish faster than at normal speed. This calculator shows both actual remaining time and adjusted time at your selected speed.
